senior year first day of class coord!

hi dolls, welcome back to paradise! unfortunately for me, my university decided to start SUPER SUPER EARLY in the semester. we end early but whew does it suck that i only had two weeks of a real "summer break..."

this monday i started classes! my sedule sucks at the moment, with mondays and tuesdays being my worst days. not only do i have a two hour break between classes on monday and tuesday, the one cafeteria where i genuinely get food is CLOSED for the semester. thankfully i didn't get dining dollars but STILL. honestly i would have gotten a meal plan if this specific hall was open, but this year's meal plans were a total SCAM... anyways here's my coord

top: unknown, got on vinted

skirts: burlington & (modern) charlotte russe

shoes: thrifted, lace and bows added

this was definitely the best outfit out of my four years here! my first and second year outfits were lowkey bad but ya know. i was so excited to get in some FDOC vids but my buns fits weren't making it in thattt ๐Ÿ˜ญ junior year was slightly better but you can tell i was playing instead of locking in. i mainly had to cover up a sheer part of the dress i wore in junior year so thats why i layered the tube top! but honestly i should have just worn something else. here's all of my old first day outfits!:

freshman year! juicy couture tank top and pink leopard print skirt :)

sophomore year! i no longer have the shirt but the skirt is the same one i wore this year!

junior year! dress and tube top from ross iirc

i always love the vibes on the yard when its the first day of class! everyone is outside taking pictures and it's great to reflect on when it's the middle of february and no one is on the yard because its 10 degrees outside. i went pretty early this year and the yard was packed, a lot more packed compared to last year when i took my pictures! it was also near 90 degrees outside so i was BOILING... there was a bit of breeze but it was not enough...

I ALSO GOT IN A FDOC VIDEOOOO YAYYYYY!!!! ugh i'm so happy the one year i truly put that shit ONNN it happened!! and the vid did numbers on tiktok AND instagram, everyone was loving my coord!! i love attention so like i was living but it gets so overwhelming cause people genuinely be recognizing me and i'm like omggg ๐Ÿ˜ญ but if you see me in person don't be a stranger i love talking to people!! it's just whiplash cause i'm not even a micro celebrity i just be posting myself and my fashion for funzies but my gyaru content is what the algorithm wanted to latch onto haha.

i'm not excited for classes but i AM excited to dress up for class again! now that i know the perils of capitalism full force i will CHERISH. my last days of being unemployed cause it really is all downhill from here chi... :P

summerween cow-gal!

hi dolls, and welcome back to paradise!!

i've been home from school for around two weeks (i go back on friday, not happy (╥﹏╥)) and i've been speed-running hanging out with my friends! two of my friends put together a summerween party and i had a BLAST!

let's start with my coord, i didn't bring a crazy amount of clothes back home since i'm only here for a short time (unfortunately), so i went with a white tube top and my favorite pair of low rise shorts!

coord details:

top: older no boundaries

necklace: hello angel girl

shorts: natalia paris jeans

belt: probably shein? keep in mind i bought this over 5 years ago when i was still a teen, definitely not a recent purchase ๐Ÿ˜…

hat: borrowed from my friend :3

the party started later in the day though i got there an hour late cause my friend and i still had to get supplies haha. most of the time spent was on food prep and catching up. my friends made 3 pizza doughs but there wasn't corn meal on the wooden thing that transferred the pizza to the pizza steel (? whatever its called) so our first pizza was Definitely Something... it flopped off of the wooden thingy and it couldn't be recovered. our pumpkin turned into a blob </3 therefore the last piece of pizza had to be split in half so we can still get cute pics. i was still willing to eat that pizza ngl but it got sacrificed to my friends family lol.

our poor pizza... moments before disaster

we also had frankenstein chips and guac, s'mores (my fave!! i would've torn up like ten of them if given the chance), candy in a halloween bucket, lemonade in cups with jack-o-lanterns drawn on them, and carved watermelons as deocration! we also had candles and i was SO scared something (especially my hair) would catch on fire HAHA so i kept an eye on them.

closeups of the table!! everything was soo perfect :)

we closed the night by watching a movie! we wanted to watch the gravity falls summerween episode but it wasn't available on anything but disney plus/amazon prime for rent and no one had that. i would have offered if i had any prime credits left but i soooo didn't unfortunately.

we watched fear street part 2 instead! it emcapsulated the vibes PERFECTLY and it got me interested in the whole franchise, so props to them! i like horror movies but they're usually either not scary or i get mildly scared. fear street part 2 had great buildup and the GORE. YES. sometimes i wanna get jumpscared and other times i wanna hide from the screen! this movie had a perfect mix of both and i'll probably watch the first and third movies when it actually becomes halloween time :)

speaking of, in my opinion, fall is a really strong contender for best thematic season. i'm very biased towards summer since its hot, i can go to the beach, and i hate winter/being cold (despite being a smack dab middle of december baby lol), but come on. just the pure idea of 2000s fall romanticizing and halloween already give fall a crazy edge by like a LOT. i'm from new england and we have the best fall by a long shot, which makes it even more memorable. i took it for granted not gonna lie, the dmv just doesn't have the same fall vibe :'/. not to mention it gets cold so i can't even wear my cute fall outfits to class since its 30 degrees when i leave and 50 by the time i get out of class, so not even a proper 60s or anything I HATE YOU CLIMATE CHANGE!!! the latter half of the year has the BEST most insane holiday lineup, the halloween to new years run just isn't/can't be replicated through the rest of the year. probably why the rest of january through april feels dead asf (unless you're in a couple LOL!).

here are more pictures to end it off (mainly me lol):

i followed a magazine tut for my make! unfortunately it was from miss appropriator supreme ran, i used to be super obsessed with her and her make! i recently got the november 2025 issue of egg magazine for an insanely cheap price (i bought it within like 15 minutes of posting LOL i was NOT letting that slip), and it had one of her make tutorials which i recognized immediately from pinterest! what i like the most about the way she did her make was that there was more emphasis on the lower part of the inner corner and the top was more or less barely lined/not lined at all!

the magazine scan for reference, pulled it from pinterest but it's the same one from the mag!

agejo birthday dinner coord!

welcome back to paradise! remember that yukata set i bought and the dress i REALLY wanted to wear with it...? well guess who got the chance to wear it? ME!!!

it was my friend's birthday this past week and she had dinner to celebrate! it was a cute lil italian restaurant, allegedly its michelin star too? everything on that meu was hella expensive though but ya know. birthday. i was able to see one of my friends that i haven't seen all summer which is also good! i was able to see a majority of my friends too but i wish we could get everyone together more often and not just for birthdays :')

i used safety pins to pull the sides of the dress together since i wasn't home yet to get it altered (as of writing, i am home now so hopefully i can get it pulled in)! it was kinda janky and it took over 20 minutes to get the pins secured the way i wanted them to be without the rest of the dres looking weird but i did it and that's all that matters. here are some of the pictures i took :)

this one HAS to be my favorite picture of them all, so cunnntyyy!

i love this silly one, also make closeup kinda!

just adding this because i lovee this picture i took with my new ageha mags <3

this is what i ordered! i think it was carbonara?

i know MA*RS print and MA*RS adjacent replica stuff can be so overplayed sometimes BUTTTT i don't care i absolutely love anything that looks MA*RS inspired or adjacent, which is why i was itching to order this dress. like look at it the pomeranians they are so cute!! one of my besties said that she really liked the silhouette of the dress on me and i was like "I KNOW BUT I CAN'T EVER FIND STUFF LIKE THIS WITH THIS PRINT IN MY SIZE LOL." so shoutout hello angel girl fr! i think midi/maxi dresses in agejo are sooo underrated, the sets are cute but go put a crown in your hair and wear a cute long dress it's just as fun as a tartan MA*RS set!!

all my love,

chele

lucky girl market and other clothing things! ♡

welcome back to paradise! on saturday, i went to lucky girl market in dc! lucky girl market does thrift event pop-ups in the DMV area and in philadelphia, if i remember correctly.

i went with my one of my roommates and one of my friends! we also had to pick up some pottery that day so we also went ahead and did that too :) my roommate and i kind of arrived late but THANKFULLY my friend had gotten there before us and was able to secure us a spot at the front, so i went in 3-ish minutes after i got there (sorry to everyone who was before us oooopsss....).

this was my coord! i was unsure if i wanted to do an agejo coord or go for a more bimbocore vibe, so my make and hair were gal and my outfit was 2000s hyperfem!

top: ross (iirc)

bottoms: 2B bebe

shoes: wedges i thrifted

accessories: amazon

necklace: playboy (not sure if its authentic playboy cause i didn't ask but if it's a knockoff, it doesn't look like a bad one and it was for a great price so i won!)

here is what i got:

brand: toi et moi

i saw this cardigan and practically fell in love! it definitely reminded me of tsuyome coords/even onee gal coords (though i'm not super versed in onee if we're being completely fr LOL)!

brand: moda international

for cover ups and just about anything velour and or terry cloth, i usually go for juicy couture only, buuuut the juicy one's i've seen for resale are at MUCH WORSE PRICES so i was like nevermind lemme just get this one since i can actually try it out and it won't be like, knee length or something LOL!

brand: liz lisa

the liz lisa top was the one i was most gagged about, since it was only $25. i damn near jumped for JOY since this was also the first vendor that i had went to! the toi et moi cardigan was $30 and the moda international cover up was $28.

i really like going to thrift markets but it can only be a once-in-a-while thing. since its basically depop IRL, you gotta prepare that mind to not spend too much, and your wallet for when you eventually do LOL.

i also finally had some packages come in! it was vinted pieces and *drumroll please* the newest drop from hello angel girl since their site reopened and was 60% off! so instead of paying $152 and $40 for the gal's best friend yukata and the gal* necklace, i only paid $60 YASSS!! that was before fees and shipping and all that other good stuff, but i was probably not gonna get a deal like that again (and i have some big girl job money left to spend!), so i went ahead and bought it.

compared to their other gal stuff, i definitely think this drop has been a good one! i wasn't a major fan of their hime set release (mainly the dress), though i did love the shoes! the dress is basically a ma*rs dupe, and if i'm being completely honest, i kinda just wanted the dress.

i'm usually a medium top and large bottom, but i sized up according to their size chart. everything fit pretty well... except the bust. UGH. i can't hag on them because they DID say it would be looser to accommodate the obi and jacket, but i lowkey did just want the dress to wear, not gonna lie... and it wasn't just loose in a slightly loose way, but in a TWO BIG GAPING HOLES WAY. don't get me wrong, i love the yukata and i definitely do want to wear it as a set, BUT! you can't just dangle a ma*rs dupe dress in front of a gal and NOT expect her to just want the dress ๐Ÿ˜ญ. i'm gonna see if i can get it altered in any way when i go home, since there's a tailor that did my prom dress near my home! cause i'll be DAYUMED if i can't wear the dress by itself, it's way too pretty. and as someone who doesn't fit typical asian size in the slightest, having anything that resembles brand in my size is so needed, so that's why i was super hyped about buying the set! i kinda wish they released the dress on its own since i might have just gotten that. but the yukata itself is so gorg, it just took me too long to figure out how to put it on OOPS.
here's me with the full set on!

hopefully there's a festival i can wear this to! there's one coming to DC around the time i go back so maybe i'll wear it there if i go! it IS the weekend before school though so i'll see...

how was chele the fashionista born ? ! ✩

welcome back to paradise! i actually used to want to be quite basic LOL. in elementary school, we had uniforms and for the two years i went to middle school (yes my middle school was two years instead of three!), i kind of resigned myself to hoodies as it was easy to cycle through the same ones. i was bullied and ostracized for the majority of this time, so all i desperately wanted was to be accepted as "normal." i was pretty bad at this thought since all i did in class was draw and talk about indie horror games with my best friend at the time LOL! by the time i was in high school in 2019 and everyone thought the future was still bright (๐Ÿ’”), i was really trying to go for blending in, for whatever reason. but i was essentially in survival prep mode, i just didn't want to get bullied like at my elementary/middle school LOL.

hi middle school me! i had the right idea going with the phone case :P

this was december of my freshman year of high school!

i didn't really have an interest in fashion that wasn't just "being normal and fitting in" until 2020 when everyone was stuck inside because of the pandemic, cause i was too busy reading wattpad and webtoon and using my pinterest and instagram to save fandom stuff and screenshots from tumblr ☠. although tiktok was detrimental to my body image for a bit and i had to delete for my own sanity, if it weren't for the app, i would'nt be as much of a diva so i have to give credit where credit is due! honestly i think tiktok was just an evil time for everybody.

my fashion journey was definitely an interesting one and took up the majority of my high school years + first two years of college! my main genre of music i listened to was pop punk and indie, so i thought the next best course of action was to be emo, or punk, or something like that. i ended up finding riot grrl/ghoul (whichever one you call it), and the music rocked (literally)! cause wtf do y'all know about heavens to betsy or lunachicks or DAZEY AND THE SCOUTS?? i think i'd give up a leg for them to return to music oh my goddd. tangent over! kinderwhore was the closest fashion thing associated, and it was cute but didn't seem super obtainable in my current budget (high schooler with no job/allowance and only bought clothes on my birthday when my mom would let me or when we went to the mall).

what i REALLY loved at the time though was e-girl and the sanrio-esque aesthetic that came along with it. the pink and black outfits with kuromi and my melody theming–that was my SHITTT!! so i wanted to be an e-girl, but i still had a very limited budget and had to scrape together outfits from the depths of my closet:

when i tell y'all i scraped this together with the little i had... i think i stole that belt from my mom LOL

but then here comes my personal fashion nuke: i don't know what to call this style–it reminds me of what the broad term "aesthetic" meant back in 2018-19 but more evolved to coincide with the e-girl boom? simple coordinated outfits with one or two colors, vaguely inspired by j-fashion and k-fashion, throw in some accessories too, pretty simple and feminine. this along with the sanrio girl e-girl fashion, was my introduction to hyperfemininity. i was entranced quick. once my year of online school was over and i had more freedom during junior year, i went ALL IN. no more hoodies for chele (i actually hate hoodies now, matter of fact... give me a regular zip up atp)!

very cute!! she tried her best

chele the coquette girl was born

also during this time, i fell heavily in love with coquette (this was around 2021-22). there was something about the simplistic femininity that felt like an easy transition between what i was wearing before and what i wanted to become that drew me in so fast! lana del rey quickly became one of my favorite artists and my dream was to own multiple pairs of heart sunglasses and wear gingham print and lace and bows in the back of my hair. i'm definitely a btd and ultraviolence truther so i'm lowkey a fake fan but WHATTEVER.

however, large parts of the coquette/girlblogger community are lowkey INSANE. i'm talking borderline ddlg, romanticizing lolita (the book), and then later on romanticizing elvis and priscilla? mind you, they're both bad people. having that lingering feeling of being associated with a bunch of young people who romanticize this basically pedo stuff (even though that wasn't the author's intention with lolita) was icky. and some of y'all think the gal community is bad LMAO... i'm a survivor of the mfing TRENCHESSS! that, along with stylistic changes, made me separate myself a bit from the community itself, but i'll always have a deep love and appreciation for the style, as it made up a large chunk of who i wanted to be :) during the summer i'll usually pull out a vintage americana coord too! i think this stuck with me the most because of how exaggerated it is compared to everything else under the coquette umbrella. i personally see it as a maximalist play on the 60s and the idealized view of america :P

when i think back on it now, what coquette was is actually real simple compared to what i enjoy nowadays. but i definitely needed that stepping stone to get to where i am today.

chele the gyaru is born

i had an appreciation for harajuku and kawaii fashion before this, but i wasn't properly introduced to gyaru until 2022, and fun fact, it was actually through something i speak up quite often about now–a japanese gal (momoa i think? miss appropriator SUPREME) appropriating box braids ☠. my first thought was, 'tf is this on my TL in the big 2022?' cause it wasn't regular gyaru either or even manba, just heavy fluffy top and bottom lashes *purely* for the love of the game. but it wasn't until i saw actual black gals more and more on tiktok that my interest began to peak in the style. it also wasn't until my best friend kayla (shoutout to u queen!) gave gyaru a try that i was like 'OH MY GOD I SHOULD DO THIS TOO MAYBE.' in 2024, with absolutely zero prior makeup experience, i decided to give gyaru a go! my life has changed so much for the better since then and i've been abe to meet so many wonderful people because of it :3

nyx jumbo stick, some almost expired eyeliner, and a dream omg

let's not talk about how bad my make was...

(fun fact i didn't have plumeria hair clips so i stole a fake flower from my house and attached it to my hair somehow LOLLL)

or my coords... okay miss tsuyohime slop

much better!

i reached two years of gal-hood this past may! YIPPEE!!! honestly it was a long time coming and i get so much better the longer i do my gal make. i basically spent almost the entirety of 2025 perfecting my make and i'm at a pretty good spot now! my next goals are to get some wigs for morigami/sujimori, get sized for and buy some color contacts, and get some more magazines. overall goal is HIT BIG VET STATUS!!!

my favorite substyles are hime, agejo, ya/manba, banba, and tsuyome. before gyaru, i actually wanted to be a lolita! i was really drawn to that hyperfeminine/princess-like silhouette and because i knew about lolita already, i thought that was the best way to go. HOWEVER, COMMA, i was a broke high schooler (it was junior year of high school when i said i wanted to try egl fashion). no way was i getting any JSKs or OPs in the near future, so i gave up immediately. this is why i love hime gyaru, agejo, and hime-kei overall so much! i'm also not the biggest fan of the length for lolita ops and jsks (i love short anything) so this not being so rigid of a dress requirement in hime is amazing for me.

notice how i didn't try to change or argue with a pre-existing community's guidelines for my own personal taste, but found something else that aligns more closely with what my preferences are...? exactly. anyways...

i'll give the EGL community a +1, since because of the tight entry barrier, you REALLY gotta love EGL and be committed to it since it's a hell of a money investment. and their community doesn't seem as badly affected by the current dumb-assery plaguing all alternative subcultures rn

chele the 2000s diva is born

right around when i got into gyaru, i also became interested in 2000s fashion and mcbling! i LOVE LOVE LOVE JUICY COUTURE. if there is one brand imma stay loyal to, it's vintage juicy couture. not a single miss EVER. i need tracksuits in all my favorite colors (working on it rn!) and my favorite bags have been my daydreamers. i love mcbling because i love juicy couture, but i also love the overall vibe of the style (and glittery bold smoky eye makeup).

but, i'm not the biggest fan of the solely pink and black in mcbling (which is crazy considering i love pink and black agejo... SUE ME. I LOVE MA*RS PRINT. IDGAF WHAT U THINK!). it felt pretty limiting, so i did a bit more digging and expanded to 2000s girly hyperfemininity/bimbocore. think the girl's next door (especially bridget!!), the house bunny, etc.! i love how exaggerated the hyperfemininity is but flexible for the everyday, and how, especially with holly, bridget and kendra, their personality traits (that kind of got associated with a lot of playmates because of over-generalization by the general population) were just them remaining true to themselves and their interests. i also ADORE shelley (i'm basically her) and see a lot of myself in her and her story throughout the house bunny! i could honestly write a dissertation on why i relate to her so much cause that movie means so much to me.

i may just have to do more research but i'm not too pressed to use the bimbocore label personally, though not gonna lie i am in fact a very dumb blonde so it fits me pretty well LOL! i just don't have as strong of a connection to it compared to gyaru or mcbling, so i use 2000s girly/hyperfeminine instead.

it's been more of my personal goal to incoporate more of this look into my style, or at the very least mix the outfit choices with my gal make! my goal is to look like shelley ๐Ÿ™

aww so cute ignore how flat my french curls are

chele the fashionista today ✩

what is so beautiful about my fashion journey is that even though i thought i wanted/had to wear mainly black to participate in fashion through my music taste, i slowly saw myself getting drawn closer and closer to pink and ultimately hyperfemininity. i love how my brain knew subconsciously what it wanted from the get-go, but just needed a little push to bring it to the conscious. a part of me wonders if i would have been as entranced by hime gyaru and 2000s hyperfemininity the way i am now if i discovered it in 2020? a part of me thinks i wouldn't have because my brain wouldn't have had the time to break down the connotations that being feminine is okay.

ah yes, Society™. the usual right? i had a kinda interesting perspective on femininity? it's weird considering that i grew up the Weird Black Girl™ so i was basically ostracized from everyone but the other weird kids–including the girls who acted as my small snippet into "typical" black femininity (keep in mind i live in the burbs...). mind you, all i wanted was to be accepted (and since that was too much of an ask, just to be left alone). that resentment from the bullying basically made me reject anything remotely feminine. i was a self-proclaimed tomboy, my favorite color was red because, according to sixth grade me logic, it made me "look sexy" (GIRL PIPE DOWN U WERE A CHILD...), and a lovely "kawaii potato" once i got to middle school yeah i basically lived up to that meme LOL.

fast forward to high school, and a part of me felt really disconnected from the idea of womanhood because i didn't want to be viewed as an object for the rest of my life (Society™, again, sigh) and i wanted to be viewed for who i was. so i identified as demigirl and went by they/she and then she/they from junior/senior year up until sophomore year-ish of college?

as borderline corporate slop as it was, it was the barbie movie of all mfing things that made me realize that I Can Still Be Me And A Girl Lol. i had a strong connection with barbie growing up–they were the only fashion dolls i could really buy, i used to rent barbie movies at my local library, and princess charm school is one of my favorite movies!!–so it makes sense that the movie about my favorite doll line was able to get that message to me. gender is made up anyway but i confused my utter resentment for patriarchy and men with dysphoria. but my ID as a demigirl helped me realize i don't want to go by my legal name so shoutout to all my demigirls and nonbinary people!! love u all very much, stay strong soldiers.

ngl i need a movie re-release cause this outfits mid...

would i call hyperfemininity a shield? probably, as anything leaning close to bimbo or manba does an EXCELLENT job of scaring away most guys (both a positive and a negative, and a whole other thing i gotta work on OOPS), but it's also my truest form of self-expression. i've had one of my besties tell me about a conversation she and my other friends had, with one of them remarking that i didn't realize that men actually like hyperfemininity and that they actually enjoy it. this is a great reminder that my biggest aspiration is to achieve the tsuyome manba look. men run in fear when they see that cause they don't know what it is. and every time i dress relatively "normal"-er (which isn't a lot) i still get absolutely zero play, but i appreciate the sentiment twin ๐Ÿ™ . i fear most men in my current area tend to go more for the black baddie look. i'm a cutie patootie and that's a-okay!

living in my own girly world is so much fun!!! i am so happy in my gyaru make, i love being blonde all the time, i love pink everything, i love lace and ruffles and bows, i love glitter and bling and maximalism and being trashy and sunshine and rainbows!! it's like after all of this time, i'm finally seeing the baddie within and it's because i chose to be a princess :)

judith butler famously said that gender is a performance. while that is mainly true, the show i choose to put on consists of the craziest mash-up of 'Super GALS!' and 'The Girl's Next Door'. so, quite the performance, huh?

all my love,

welcome to chele's couture paradise, where all of your dreams come true . . . ˚.⋆꒰เงง เป’꒱⋆.˚ (introduction post!)

hii it's so nice to meet you and welcome to paradise! my name is chele, and i'm so excited to start this blog! i run my personal instagram and a tiktok, mainly for gyaru and other fashion stuff, but i want to do something new as well! my two best friends have made blogs, which inspired me to create my own, since i LOVE sharing my thoughts with the internet (case in point: my personal spam account LOL). i also love how nostalgic i feel seeing old blogs from j-fashion enjoyers across the globe, and now i want to do it too! it's like putting my mark on a map lol ^^

i'm bad at maintaining a physical diary as much as i'd like to (i was BIG on dork diaries growing up, i even met the author at a signing!!), and i figure this would get me typing on a keyboard again. i also think having a more chill space to share my life and the things i get up to fashion-wise would be really fun!! i mainly want to use this space to talk about fashion, my interests, and my lil adventures! i LOVE the old blogs that a ton of gals had back in the heisei era and i want to try my hardest to carry that same spirit, even if it's just for myself :) but i also want to keep it real since i'm a real person. we'll mostly see where this goes as i'll mainly be talking into the void... but i love pretending i'm talking to a youtube audience so this is perfect for me >:)

but if you're here it's so wonderful to see you! i hope you enjoy these little snippets of my world :)
